I don't know I don't think it's THAT excessive. I guess you could compare Tu-134s and -154s to a 727. And I think a Tu-134 comes close to Bae-146. But if they got rid of them and bought new planes they wont have to worry about fuel and could afford them maybe?? And Aeroflot is keeping their Tu-134s for a while still as you can see they're painting them in the new colors. Still more fuel than a 737...I'm interested in the fuel issues of Russian carriers.
