To be honest I thought that U2
wouldn't set up shop at CWL
but I was just passing on some information that I came across..
As for the AA
member.. well that wasn't me.. I can't remember his username but he hasn't posted on here for a while!
for a fact are looking at CWL
to operate a 752 but both airports are about equal when it comes down to it...
has a rather large market for tourism and business from the US... with many North American companies having links with Wales and the Southwest + a lot of tourism to and from the US!
Personally a 752 service from BRS
would be fairly stupid seeing as BRS
runway is only 6598ft... compared to CWL
's 7723ft.. that means no restrictions on a flight from CWL
but many restrictions on a flight from BRS
BTW, on the tarmac today I saw some American business men with CONTINENTAL
on they're laptop cases...with the director of Cardiff Airport.. could well be talking about a CO
service from CWL
Your probably right Gkirk but CWL are doing alot to try and attract new airlines along with the WDA (Welsh Development Agency) and they have a decent size runway to their advantage. Apparently they are expected to announce some new airlines and routes in the near future - I am all ears.
Either way, if any airline is to set up a hub at Cardiff, you can pretty much rule out Easyjet as Bristol is just too nearby.
What routes are these that may well be launched?
What airlines are contemplating setting up a hub at CWL
