Did we ever find out the reason that EK A343 nearly crashed at JNB on April 9th.

The last I heard was overloaded and/or wrong weight-and-balance calculations. I am still thinking of a link and try to find it.

The aircraft is still at JNB, I saw it in front of SAA's main technical hangar when I flew to DBN this morning. Still no word of the reason for the incident.
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

The weight/balance calculations were re checked and the cargo re-weighed and was ruled out as there was no problem with them.

Another possible cause is pilot error - maybe linked to cross crew qualification on A332/A345/A343 and pilots being inexperianced with the A343 compared to the other 2 that have a higher power-weight ratio.
