A330-200 Service To Begin

Fri May 21, 2004 8:06 am

Northwest on Thursday announced the starting dates of service operated by the A330-200, its newest aircraft type, between Tokyo and three destinations along the U.S. West Coast and four destinations in the Asia/Pacific region.

"The introduction of A330 service in these markets allows Northwest to offer travelers a new level of in-flight comfort that exceeds what's offered by our U.S. competitors and many of our international rivals," said Phil Haan, EVP-international, sales and information services.

The start of service from Tokyo is timed in conjunction with the delivery of seven new A330-200 aircraft the airline will begin receiving this summer. In 2004, Northwest will offer A330-200 service from Tokyo to Seoul beginning Aug. 1, San Francisco on Sept. 2, Portland starting Oct. 3, Beijing on Oct. 2, Seattle beginning Nov. 3, Bangkok on Nov. 2 and Singapore beginning Dec. 1.

May I suggest a better, more descriptive title?

Northwest A330-200 Service to Begin

Anyways, it's great to see a US carrier finally operating A330-200s.
