Yesterday afternoon (May 19) I was sitting in Pittsburgh at gate C51 (I believe) in Pittsburgh waiting for my flight home on Midwest Connect. While watching planes come and go I noticed a UA flight 973 to Chicago depart from the gate next to C51.
I noticed the red strobe light (both on top and bottom) wasn't on. It pulled away and taxied out of view still with no strobe. Would this be a case of it being burned out? I can't recall ever not seeing a strobe not on while an aircraft was in service. Any thoughts?
