Name Of LH Cargo Plane "zc"

Sat May 22, 2004 2:55 am

Hello!

Does anyone know why this plane is named "Klaus-Michael Kühne"? That´s very unusual. Obviously the first time a LH plane is named after a person and not a german city or a continent.

There was already a LH Cargo plane which was named after a person, D-ALCA was named "Wilhelm Althen" but for some reasons they removed the name later.

Klaus-Michael Kühne is the majority owner and Chairman of Kühne & Nagel, the logistics company. LH Cargo obviously wants to point out their good relationship with one of their key customers by naming an aircraft after him.

Thanks very much guys!

Actually before I posted this thread I "googled" for Klaus-Michael Kühne and found out that he is the chairman of that particular company. But I could hardly believe that LH Cargo named an aircraft after him. Obviously I was wrong...

Again thanks
Cheers

They´re published in the timetable booklets which are given away by Fraport. (Well, "only" those flights from/to F.RA, obviously). Maybe you or someone you know, Horus, passes through F.RA and can pick up one for you. Or maybe Fraport will mail you one if you ask nicely.

As for the topic, wow, brown-nosing at its best  Wow!

Airsicknessbag, I was in AB) (FRA / FRF / EDDF), Germany">FRA 2 months ago (my first time) I came from LHR on a BA 767 and connected onto an MS A320 to CAI. Very nice airport. My transit time was like 4 hours so I did some spotting (from McDonalds returnant in T2) and noticed nearly 80% of aircraft movement were Lufthansa aircraft.

Anyway the reason I ask is I found out that Lufthansa is the 5th largest cargo operator out of CAI. I didn't even know they serve Cairo, so I wanted to know info on their services (i.e aircraft type (MD-11/747) and frequency)?

Ah ok. I´ll see whether I have that booklet to get you the information about YF @ CAI.
If not, I´ll get to F.RA in two or three weeks, then I´ll have a look at the timetable and send you an eMail.

Here's a press release from Kuehne + Nagel and LH Cargo about the naming of the 742F after Klaus-Michael Kühne.

You might want to check out LH Cargo's website to see if they have a schedule.

The only scheduled YF flight between F.RA and CAI is LH8418, passing through CAI on Sundays as part of a F.RA-CAI-SHJ-MAA-CCU-MAA-SHJ-F.RA routing.

There might be more scheduled flights ex CGN or charters ex F.RA.
