YUL332X, really? That is interesting. The article had only mentioned that they were trying to cut domestic capacity. However, with them disposing of their 747Fs, I can see them looking to acquire a new longhaul aircraft to fly to Asia and Europe from the US. I wonder where they will fly them out of? Does anyone know what the runway situation is like in Louisville? How about in Ontario, Anchorage, Newark, or any of their other larger stations?
As far as I am concerned though, if it will get some of those birds over here so that I can see them live, OK
I still have my doubts about airlines like UA
purchasing them. Although there are some routes in key cities like Tokyo, Heathrow, Amsterdam, and maybe Frankfurt, I don't think that the cost of acquisition and training will be beneficial for so few aircraft. Plus, UA
are both reducing capacity on many routes with 777s, 332s, and 333s on many routes. Still, that is just my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own!
