New Name For BMIbaby?

Mon May 24, 2004 6:30 am

Hi,

Well, we are all aware of the BMIbaby's identity crisis, it doesn't really have any meaning or key Identity with the regular passenger, this is why I think that BMIbaby needs a name change, it can keep the icon that is - tiny, but if they could incorporate that into they're name would really help them.

I think that..

FlyTiny would be a very good name for BMIbaby... it's current icon (a small cartoon child) represents TINY fares so why not put that into the name and create a simpler and much appealing identity?

What do you people think?

Any other name suggestions?

Regards,

CM

Hmm. It ceases to amaze me why a low-cost airline has not yet used 'fly.com'. And the slogan 'and you're there' would work wonders.

Fly.com - and you're there.

Be sure to get someone to proof read your work first, mind.  Wink/being sarcastic  Laugh out loud 'Their' is better than 'They're', as it means 'his, her or its' whereas the latter is a contraction of 'they are'. LOL.

Don't have any problem with it!
Think that changing your identity is a very pooor buisiness move!
Look at Airtours successful company major rebrand to mytravel disaster!
Flying colours fantastic name and reputation JMC I ask you which plonker came up with that?
Move abroad Condor well known German name stuck in my mind from the 1970's changed to Thomas Cook struggling.
How many satisfied customers have flown BMIbaby their first internet port of call next time they need a flight is WWW.BMI.com!
People forget how much a change of image costs how much did animals & trees and the rest of the rubbish cost BA millions and for what?
Stick with BMIbaby it works for me!
Think their call sign ''BABY'' is fantastic!!!!!!!!!

I agree with KA501.
Airtours and Condor were great and I don't understand why they changed them. The same I have to say about previous DL and UA livery...
BMI Baby works fine for me, although FlyTiny.com sounds good as well - at least to a foreigner. Regardless of what they do with the name, they definitely should keep the cartoon baby  Big thumbs up logo!!!

I think BMIbaby is actually a clever bit of marketing. It's a snappy name, you know that BM are backing it and that it's not the full product. Is that an identity crisis?

More importantly, does anyone, other than members of a.net, know where they fly from and to? They certainly aren't as aggressive in advertising as easyJet/Ryanair/FlyBE - or do they stick to placing ads in the areas the operate from? (Don't remember seeing any here in the southeast in connection with the Gatwick launch).

I think personally BMIbaby sounds ok, what its trying to say is "be my baby" aka referring to the aircraft, but not a lot of people pick up on this.
Maybe a change of name would suit BMIbaby, maybe it'll be a mistake who knows, I personally like the name.
Its not the fall that kills u, its the sudden stop at the end..
