>>>with a fire in the tail engine

Well, -that- narrows it down...  Big grin

Was this an aircraft in maintenance or parked, or one that was on a scheduled flight when the problem occurred?

Engine fire in a modern commercial airliner=not THAT big of an inflight emergency (read: not newsworthy). Sure it makes ARFF happy and makes for a pretty red flashing light show on the ground with all the trucks rolling out, but unless the fire can't be put out in the air, it's not that big of a deal. It could be a relatively minor thing. No worries.

YX Fire

Mon May 24, 2004 2:50 pm

We heard about it over in MSN tonight!!! LOL. 7 YX diversions and 2 AW diversions.

1 - Boeing 717
2 - Beech 1900
4 - Dornier 328Jets

AirWilly (operating as UnitedExpress):
2 - CRJ

What a great night! I heard that the entire airport was closed for a while due to weather too! Somehow, MSN got lucky and all the storms formed over the East side of the airport and we had a mostly sunny day on the field! Of course, our whole crew had never seen a tornado until this evening either. Had an F0 form about 4 miles north of the field.
Hey Obama, keep the change! I want my dollar back.
