What Will Be In Faro For The Championships?

Wed May 26, 2004 10:40 pm

I head out to Faro on the 12th of June (start of Euro 2004) and would just like to know if anyone has any info on what charters are operating. As i've been to Faro 7 times previously i know how busy it can get in the height of Summer but with Euro 2004 I would like to see some 747's and that MD-11. So any feedback appreciated.

Well I know that British Airways will be operating the 747 to Lisbon (I believe) 1x daily along with some other flights (probably their usual A320 service). I would think that there would be lots of charters to Portugal due to the competition.

What games are you going to go see GLAGAZ?

All I know is that on June 12, Portugal goes at it against Greece in Porto.
GO PORTUGAL WOOOO HOOOO!!!! Laugh out loud

(ps. If my girlfriend, who is Greek, saw me writing this, shed kick me @$$ lol)

Unfortunately the Spain game on the 12th is sold out and the only other game in Faro is on the 20th (the day after i leave). So either I make my way up to Lisbon and Oporto or miss the flight and try and get a flight on the 20th.

There might possibly be some SATA International airbus A310's but i couldn't be sure. Monarch are definetely operating A330's this summer but heavies are pretty scarce at Faro. Lockheed tristars are still around there from Euro Atlantic and Air Luxor. Hapag Lloyd willl be serving Faro with A310's as well.

I wouldnt exactly say that widebodies are scarce at Faro.

KLM has brought their really nice looking 777's over once in a while. Lets see what I can conjure up here on the a.net:
