Wow, what a great idea, a self contained PTV! No need to wire up an airplane, it's got to be far more economical for them. This also sounds like something Southwest should look into, since they wouldn't have to retrofit their fleet and give passengers on longer flights an entertainment option.

Sounds like a winner to me!

cheers, Ralph

I also wonder if the seats will be designed in a way that the device can be placed somewhere, or will the passenger have to put it on the tray table, or their lap? Looks like a great idea though, hopefully it will be free.  Smile

Next in line for PTV's is Zoom, and I hear Transat will have them too. That will leave Air Canada as one of the few without PTV's in most of their fleet. Hmmmmm.

From the article: "Passengers will be able to rent a digEplayer(TM) for $10."

I would think they are Canadian Dollars!!

Nice, this looks like another step in competing with WS for the LCC market. Now while on their loonie flights, you can watch Scooby Doo!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
