CO 777 En-route CLE-IAH

Thu May 27, 2004 4:10 am

Anyone know why flight CO #35 stopped in Cleveland? I missed a 777 in Cleveland by a week, damn! Was it a medical diversion?

According to Continental.com the Continental Flight 35 operate as following segment:

IAH-DEN
CLE-LGW
CLE-IAH
None of them are 777.

The LGW-CLE flight number is #67, not #35. Flight #35 is LGW-IAH.Flight explorer shows it as a 772. Can someone with CO confirm this information. Did they cancel flight #67 and route #35 through CLE to drop off pax?

As a side note: Is there any chance CO will switch CLE-LGW to a 767-200 ever? They have said the loads on this route are quite good, but personally I would hate to fly that far on a 757-200, even for the novelty of flying a direct flight from CLE to Europe.

The LGW-IAH flight stopped in CLE to drop off a passenger with a medical emergency. Landed around noon and left for IAH about 1PM.

CLE-LGW--it would depend on which cabin is selling--because I believe its actually a decrease in capacity--but more BF. Plus landing fees are higher for the 767s

Rumor has it that once the new runway is complete, CO may upgrade to a 767-200 on the LGW route. It provides for much better cargo space while seating nearly the same number of pax.

35 landed in CLE, as a small child apparently, from what I heard, was choking on a ChapStick cap, apparently.

35 left CLE around 1pm. I wanted to see it taking off, but I misplaced my glasses at work, and missed it leaving because I was searching for them. Damn.  Laugh out loud

Btw, 67 LGW-CLE was cancelled today. Didn't see the reason.

And rumor is 66 CLE-LGW could go to a 762 next year, when the long runway is finished this fall. The extension will be complete around Aug 5, I believe.
