AC A345 Question

Thu May 27, 2004 5:21 am

I know this has been discussed a lot but never with any definitive answers:

Can anyone confirm when AC 345s will be entering pax service? I understand they will start on YYZ YVR runs and I have a business trip out there would like to see what the new Exec First seat is like--

Are the 345s in Canada yet?

Thx for the info--regards,

Go to AC's website and on the FIN numbers page, they have listed 2 A345s and their rego. Seems like they are getting ready for it.

Sounds like a weekend in Vancouver is in order via an AC345...Any YYZers up for it?

Air Canada appears to be putting the A340-500 into revenue service starting July 1st, 2004 on Toronto-Vancouver. Toronto-Vancouver-Toronto will be used as an A340-500 route for the entire month of July.

Gents.. If ACA is starting A340-500 service on june 1st, then these aircraft gotta be on canadian soil already, and if not then it will be very soon. Air Canada has to do acceptance flights, as well as getting these pilots checked out on the type. For those in YYZ and YVR, id be on the look out for the next couple of days.

Isn't AC going to start A345 service on July 1? I read in another related topic that an A345 is going to fly from TLS to YUL some time later.

YAY!!
I just booked my tickets for YYZ-YVR on AC's A340-500!!!
Although I don't have a window seat for the flight going to Vancouver, I have one for the flight home. I'll take lots of pics and might even do a little trip report.

What a geek I am. I haven't been this excited for a flight in a long time.

It's been discussed before, but no one seems to have an answer yet --- Does anyone know for sure what date AC expects to receive their new 345 aircraft?

I just have this sneaking suspicion that when I go to check-in for my YYZ-YVR flight, that a 763 will be parked at the gate instead of the 345.

Anyone know when they arrive for sure?

George, I can't say for sure, but it's in the next few weeks anyways! The first scheduled flight is now July 2, 2004, from YUL to YYZ. I guess things have been pushed back slightly.

I am surprised there has not been more information on this. Are the 345s actually in Canada yet?

They seem to be on the online sked for YYZ to YVR in July, you would think that they must be in country if that date is actually going to hapen. Plus, it's August that the non stop YYZ HKG is supposed to start right?

Any info?

The first will arrive in Canada on June 29th, the second in the middle of July. Initial routes planned are YYZ-YVR-YYZ and YYZ-LHR-YYZ and as someone mentioned there will be some initial positioning and ad hoc replacement flights between YYZ and YUL.

Enjoy your flight!
