Tracking The A/c Used In "Airport"

Mon May 31, 2004 12:04 pm

A Boeing 707-349 (C/n 19354) was used in the filming of the movie "Airport" in 1970. It was originally delivered to Flying Tigers as N324F and eventually made its way to Aer Lingus at EI-ASO and on to Trans Brasil as PT-TCS with whom it crashed on 21 March 1989. Does anyone know of, or have a picture of the plane in the Trans Global Airlines livery used in the movie? I seem to have seen one on here once but can't locate it. Thanks for any thoughts.

Sorry I don't.

Try this forum here, maybe somebody there has it.

You do realize that they didn't fake that shot of them executing the groundloop at the end of the runway.

Yeah, that was pretty impressive seeing the plane sliding down the runway like that. If you look closely when the plane comes to a stop, you can see the N-number.

Sorry the link didn't come up.

Actually I think you get a better shot of it during the takeoff roll.
