Mon May 31, 2004 11:47 pm

HEy

Today is the first aniversery of the Air France concorde.
I thought that this might be a good post to share some stories and experiences with the lovely silver bird(well its white but..).

Last year I went down to JFK to get some photos of the plane and got a lot of them to of them where submitted

I also went to the last flight of the BA concorde but i didn't send any in.

I really do miss seeing the concorde every time i go down to JFK.
but.. i am looking forward to see the EK 345 and the AF 733ER.

The weather today is a little bit like yesterday! and today it is also memorial day!

True - a sad day. Miss seeing it fly over my house every morning after takeoff from LHR. Could almost set your watches by it.
Even remember the twice a day experience!

I remember, was at work, interviewing someone from up north who had never seen it or heard it before. During the interview, Concorde flew over, and her face just dropped. At one point, I thought she was gonna take cover under the desk.
Is weird - when you get used to something, you don't always appreciate it. That is, until it is gone.

I believe my typical signature is the most appropriate close for this topic:
Faire du ciel le plus bel endroit de la terre c'est impossible sans Concorde!  Crying  Crying

Just checking - have forgotten most of my French.....

"Making / To make the sky more beautiful than the Earth without Concorde is impossible?"

Close? Have always been wondering about that CB!

"Faire du ciel le plus bel endroit de la terre c'est impossible sans LE Concorde"

That would be perfect french...  Wink/being sarcastic

That would be perfect french...

Wrong!

In this instance, it would in fact not be  Laugh out loud

Worldoftui,
it's quite alright, as my French is generally even worse than my attitude toward its speakers  Big grin

Anywho, it's really just a knock on AF's slogan:
Faire du ciel le plus bel endroit de la terre c'est impossible sans Concorde!

Dear AlitaliaMD11

I know how you feel, I remember seeing the Concorde takeoff all the time when I worked over at T1. People would stop what they were doing to wacth it takeoff it was as though people were going to wacth the king bath.
It was good while it lasted thanks for the memories. Crying
Airplanes are only as good as the people who fly&fix them.
