I Found An Error On BTS

Wed Jun 02, 2004 12:47 pm

I found a registration error for a UAL 777 at SEA on October 10, 2003. It is listed as N785UA when it is actually N784UA. I do have photographic proof, with EXIF data. What do I do? DO you think this deteriorates the credibility of BTS?

I think it "deteriorates YOUR credibility" far more than you actually care enough to make a big deal out of what was probably a typo.

But yes, you can write to the General Accounting Office about any errors on the part of BTS and they will include them in the next audit.

It is much more likely that both N784UA and N785UA were at SEA on that day. United usually has one 777 come in from Tokyo and depart for Chicago. Another flies the reverse route (I believe the US city is ORD, but I am not certain). UA easily could have aircraft with consecutive registrations operating the two flights.

Sometimes all you can do is look them in the eye and ask " how much did your mom drink when she was pregnant with you?"
