What Happened To Air Kazakstan?

Fri Jun 04, 2004 4:43 pm

Am wondering that Air Kazakstan disappeared from German skies.
Is it only cause AirKaz doesn't fly to Frankfurt any longer or aren't they existing any more?
Germany was a very good market for them and they disappeared from one moment to the next.
Anybody knows what happened ?

Air Kazakstan is/was former Kazakstan airlines, another airline that got bancrupt.
FRAPORT is waiting for the "new" Air Kazakstan with another name construction. But that's the way it is: no money, closing company, opening "new" company with same planes, same staff, same offices, etc.
Hmmm, looks like SR/LX  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

As far as i know Air Astana is not the "new" Air Kazakstan.

Air Astana was established in Sep 2001 and is owned 51% by the government of Kazakstan and 49% by BAE Systems Ltd.

Also they do not have the former fleet of Air Kazakstan in operation. Air Astana has 2 B737-700, 1 B737-800 and 3 B757-200 in her fleet.

Presently Air Astana have increased their flight volume into AB) (FRA / FRF / EDDF), Germany">FRA and they have two flights per week now they actually use Tupolev 154-aircraft (from Sayakhat); those flights are day 5 (evening) and day 7. They started this lease to cover the increased travel-needs during high summer-season and rumours are they get add. Western aircrafts soon... can someone confirm they are negotiating with B767 (that´s what I heard...) !?

Those two flights which were operated by Sayakhat TU154 equipment have changed since yesterday to B757. Air Astana will increase flights again from 28.06 with three additional flights (day3/4/5), two of those which will be operated again with TU154 equipment.
