Fri Jun 04, 2004 10:35 pm

What kind of service can I expect next month when I fly to JNB on VS? What is the most likely entertainment system?

You should be expecting to fly on an A340-300 with either the Arcadia or Odyssey IFE. You can find more information on http://www.v-flyer.com.

The main difference is that Odyssey has a larger screen and four extra movie channels.

Some flights to JNB have been operated recently by the A340-600 so you may even get v:port!

V:port offers travellers Video and Audio on Demand. It is also possible to pause and rewind their movie, TV show or CD.

Other features:
10.4 inch screen (Upper Class)
9 inch screen (Premium Economy / Economy)
300 hours of Video on Demand available
14 channels of Audio on Demand
15 computer games (3 are multi-player)

Hope this helps Horus.

Cheers - Skytrain.

Thanks Skytrain

It much appreciated. I've wanted to ask for some time, but I thought it was a stupid question.

Ok. Thanks for your help. Maybe I will get lucky and get V:Port or more passengers than expected and the aircraft upgraded to a 747-400.

No chance of a 744 I'm afraid. There are no 744 flight deck crews down in JNB anymore, so nobody to fly the a/c back, unless the crew took minimum rest !!.
