Last time i checked ATL had the 4th highest O&D figures in the US, MIA was something like 15th or lower!
The Miami-area has three commerical airports, Atlanta has one.
The reasons for KLM Royal Dutch dropping MIA
-With the new Air France merger, there is no reason for it. MIA
is a high-yielding route, MIA
is not. They are simply moving the traffic through Paris, where yield and demand is stronger. When they didn't have AF
, Miami was a destination served more by nessecsity. It is an important and key trans-Atlantic market to have in the network. Even though KLM will no longer serve MIA
, it will be in the network via Air France.
-While KLM is dropping MIA
, Air France is increase MIA
to 10w and Martinair Holland is increasing MIA
