Looks like US 567, from DCA, is also on its way to TPA. Southwest 1183, from Albany, should have arrived in Tampa by now, and looks like is back in the system for a 1735 daparture to Orlando.

Didn't see you post and just started one about the VS 747 into TPA. Flew right over my head as I was leaving work this afternoon.

The aircraft will be just departing now for the short hop to MCO, weather permitting  Big grin. All three of the flights from LGW all took off on time and landed about 45mins late, so we can see why the B747-200 was diverted. Shame you TPA spotters didn't get 4 Virgin aircraft. That would have been a treat Big grin

4 Virgin Aircraft??? Big Deal!  Insane LOL  Big thumbs up Just Kiddin. I guess I am use to seein that every day here at MCO.  Smile  Smile Guess I'm just lucky!

While we are on the subject... why doesn't Virgin fly to TPA? The only transatlantic service TPA has is BA's lone High-Density 777. Couldn't Virgin compete with this flight by putting a 744 or 742 on the same route? They seem to be favored over BA here at MCO!!! I guess it's just because of the theme parks.

What a complete waste of time! GRRRR.... Pissed

I got there at 6:00 and saw the 747 at the cargo area. Looks like they had 3 doors on it's left side open. It didn't move for an entire hour. Then when it moved, it didn't take off.  Sad It went down to international gates at Airside F. I have no friggin idea what time the aircraft departed.

On a bright spot, I ran into an old aviation friend I hadn't seen in 12 years.  Smile

When I went home at midnight I saw WN Arizona One and Nevada One side by side.

It is now expected to depart TPA at 13:00 local. So i'm guessing this is going to be nearing a 24hr delay for the outbound MAN passengers. I would be happy  Big grin.

I was parked by the ABX Ramp off 18r. I had seen it from the Vets Expressway on the way to dinner at 6 pm on 6/4/04. I didn't think weather was that bad to divert. I figured it was a charter or mechanical diversion. I was probably moved there to accommodate the BA 777.

The Flight Got cancelled to Orlando according to Flightview.com.

Sorry 727Lover. Didn't think they would cancel it.  Sad It'll probably just go back to Manchester now. Who knows when though? We're having more terrible storms right now with small hail so who knows if any more will get diverted.

The manchester airport website says expected tomorrow at 20:40. A 37 and a half hour delay. That's going to look good on the on-time performance records. The weather can't be that bad if the other flights are landing at MCO. I'm guessing there's a technical problem with the aircraft.

From what I have been told, the VS crew simply timed out before the flight was cleared to depart back to MCO. As to if the paxs were bused or remained in TPA... That is a very good question. I'm sure there were many phone calls between TPA, MCO, and the UK yesterday.
