What Can I Expect From BOS?

Sat Jun 05, 2004 1:02 pm

So in about a week or two I will be traveling to BOS. I will be getting into BOS on a Saturday around 10:30am. So my main questions are what can I expect from the airport since I've never been there before. And is there anything I should look out for including any heavies, but I think ill end up missing most of those, right? Well thanks to everyone who helps me out, its greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Tom

Try the Boston Logan Intl Airport website:

I'm also going to BOS this summer and I am interested in some further input.

If you're lucky, you might see a Delta 767 or two, but that's about it. Internationals start to come in at about 1230 (starts with LH from AB) (FRA / FRF / EDDF), Germany">FRA). Basically, you will see plenty of 737s, A32X, and MD-80, mostly from US, DL, and AA. There are also quite a few 757s there too. Lots of RJs as well, mostly ERJ and FRJ, but a few CRJ.

In terms of facilities, it depends who you are flying. Terminal E is brand new, and is quite impressive. Terminal B landside is nothing special, and it gets the job done on the airside. Terminal C is a little worse than B, but still decent. Terminal D isn't really much of anything.

If you are looking to spot, don't go to Terminal B Parking. I have talked personally to the PR chief at BOS, he told me that Central Parking is fine, but Terminal B's garage is off-limits. Offsite, if 22 is in use for landings, head to Constitution Beach. If 4 is being used for landings, go to Castle Island in South Boston. If 9/27 is in use, there is a small playground out toward the neck in Winthrop.
