AeroMexico Has No Website For Spain And France?

Sun Jun 06, 2004 4:40 am

I was trying to book a ticket with AM thru their website and was very surprised to see that they have no web site for their European market. That's really sad, since Madrid and Paris are very possibly AM's most profitable destiantions and every year they are becoming more and more important, with more flights per week. It's really disappointing that they only have a website for Mexico and the USA, but no web site in French for France, none displaying the total prices in Euros, and none dislplaying special offers and info for their European travellers. Any news on this? Someone who works in AM could explain?

Even Aerolineas Argentinas or LAN have special websites for Spain, too bad AeroMexico stays behind in this...

Thanks.

This is NOT the only thing AM and Mexican carriers are staying behind. This is another of example of how slow and how stupid things are running. MAD and CDG are one of the most important routes for AM. A lot of things needs to be done! Ehem... increase frequencies, capacity and offer the best fares in the market!

Well, IB has no site for Méjico, either.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Neither do other carriers such as CO, for instance.

So much for the "World Wide" Web.

Mexicana has a great Webpage and is considered one of the best for airlines.

They have no problem selling tickets from Europe and the world. I don't understand why some of you this otherwise.

I am certain that people in Europe can buy tickets in on any airline. I have
done so from Italy buing on AirTran for example.

I was discussing AM website with a friend who works in AM's Internet department. She also complains that AM's website is poor but she keeps telling me that the department does not get the proper budget to improve it and the head of IT does not do anything about it; so blame both the CEO and CFO who consider that AM's website is not a priority for the airline...

Actually, I really like MX website, although they could improve it a little bit more; still, I have managed to use it without problems...

Yeeh, actually I agree Mexicana's website works and looks much much better, never tried to purchase a ticket there but made inquiries and the results looked much more organised than with AM's website, where you cannot even buy the ticket, at least if you are orinating in Spain. My example:

I tried to buy a ticket to Mexico in November last afternoon (Saturday June 5 arround 7pm) and the only I get is a stupid reservation record number which expired today Sunday June, 6 at 9.00am and tells you in red letters: si no compra el boleto antes de las 9 AM del 6 de junio se cancela su reservacion. Whatta stupid system: it's obvious my booking will be cancelled because of course I wont be able to go to AeroMexico's office in Madrid to buy the ticket on a Saturday evening or that I will go to get it on a Sunday at 8.00 am. (AM here opens mon to fri 9am to 6pm only, as all foreign carriers, and sorry, even if it would be open, of course I wouldn't bother to wake up on a Sunday at 7.30AM to get my ticket to Mexico in November).
They dont offer possibility for purchasing the ticket in the net and send it home, e-ticket neither, nothing. Not here in Spain.

NAVEGA, maybe Mexicana's website is better as i wrote above, but we are talking about AeroMexico's.  Big grin

Wolkenridder:

I was tring to make a point and obviously I did not do a good job at it.

I have bougth tickets in Europe on other airlines that do not have a
particular webpage for Eurpoean passengers. For example AirTran or
ATA. I bought tickets from Europe to make a connection in the USA.

I could not understand why there was a problem with Aeromexico until
I went into their Webpage last night. Now I understand why there where
negative comments about their website. I tried to make a reservation
from Mexico City to Guaymas and could not. It was very complicated and
it would not give me a response.

I guess they need to do something about this.
