How Many A 310s Did SIA Operate?

Sun Jun 06, 2004 9:24 pm

Hi! Can anyone tell me how many A 310s did SIA operate? I mean at peak time.

I understand that they plan to order something to replace their oldest B 747-400s and A 310s. How many do they need?

They were operating the A310-200 since 1984-2000(?) and the A310-300 since 1987-2003. I think they operated a total of 15.

SQ operated a total of 6 A310-200s and 17 A310-300, IIRC.

There is another thread that states that SQ is after a 50 aircraft order. This will replace their A310s and older 744s. The order will consist of 7E7/A332Lite and 773/A346

Cheers

Older B 747-400s, not B 747-300s which have already been retired.

50 including firm orders and options. That makes sense.

23+ B 7E7 and maybe 5-10 B 777-300ERs? Plus options?

My guess is: 5-10 B 777-300ERs and 20-25 B 7E7s.

The B777-300ER will replace 5-8 of Singapore Airlines's oldest B 747-400s, including the ones which are out of service. The newer ones will stay for a while.

Hopefully if Boeing builds the B 747 Advanced, SQ will place an order in the future.

Where are the SQ A310s going? Are Airbus or Boeing taking them?

23 A310s in total:

The 8 A300s were registered 9VSTA to STH

6 A310-200 then came into the fleet, reg 9VSTI to 9VSTN

Followed by 17 A310-300, starting with reg 9VSTO. By that time, the A300s were gone, hence when 9VSTZ was reached (reg STX was skipped; no SQ aircraft have an X in the reg), they recycled the -300 regs to begin again with 9VSTA. The last aircraft was STF.
