Does anyone know what Air Tiger is?

Tue Jun 08, 2004 5:31 am

Today, while driving through RDU, I came across this aircraft at the General Aviation terminal. Does anyone know what Air Tiger is? I know it can't be commercial, but would GA planes have official names like Air Tiger? Any info would be appreciated. It looks like a Delta knock-off.. but I know it isn't!  Smokin cool

Try going to www.airtiger.com. It seems like it is a freight company or something. Just a guess though....

Could it be a factional outfit? I tried a web site search with no success and I even tried http://www.airlinecodes.co.uk with no success either.

I don't know.. there were pics in A.net files.. but no one knows what it is? I saw it at RDU yesterday... but it is a Gulfstream plane which suggests private ownership.. yet it has a LLC name..

The website indicates that Air Tiger Express is a non-asset based freight forwarder. That means they have no aircraft, trucks, warehouses, etc. Not sure what you saw in RDU, but I don't think it has anything to do with Air Tiger Express.

Could be. There may be more than one "Air Tiger". When you enter www.airtiger.com, you get the freight forwarder.

It's not the freight business.. it was parked at the GA Terminal at RDU where freight companies are not allowed. It's called Air Tiger 1, LLC... The Singapore LCC is Tiger Air. And the mystery continues...

It will be a cover name for some business/very rich individual. Lots of companies do it - you'd be surprised how many companies like "N415JK LLC" there are - some are more creative than others! (that's just an example - not real!).

Their registration addresses often trace back to lawyers etc that organise it for them - it not only keeps them confidential, but I suspect it could have tax benefits as well.

Many are registered in Wilmington, DE, so I suspect it could have something to do with tax.

For instance - there are loads of aircraft registered under different company names at:

3511 Silverside Road, Suite 105 Wilmington DE
