the new 737NG for AirTran will be moved down to the Museum of Flight on the morning of June 10, and will be there thru the evening, if anyone wants to get down there and photograph it.

LN-MOW,

That picture in your post is NOT FL's new 737.

You're showing the 'soon-to-be gone' wet-leased Ryan International A320 in FL colors (note the winglet on the left wing).

FL's new 737 has a different (and somewhat controversial) livery.

Clickhappy,

That being the case, LN-MOW should have stated that more clearly in his post. I can garauntee that if I didn't say something, someone else certainly would have.

No hard feelings LN-MOW.  Smile

Is the purpose of this just publicity? I wonder who coordinates this. I remember they brought one of Airborne Express's new 767's into MoF's lot once when I was there, and a specially painted 727 for the Rendezvous in Space stuff.

20 youths affiliated with Chris Kids, an Atlanta-based charity helping abused and neglected kids, will manually pull a Boeing 737-700 for 65 feet. Helping them will be AirTran Airways Chairman and CEO Joe Leonard, AirTran Airways President and COO Bob Fornaro, and Boeing President and CEO Harry Stonecipher plus 50 AirTran Airways crew members.

The children are in Seattle to receive a $65,000 donation from Boeing, AirTran Airways, engine manufacturer CFMI and GECAS, the aircraft leasing company. Crew members of the airline, which currently flies only Boeing 717s, are in Seattle to pick up their first Boeing Next-Generation 737.

How hard is it to get to the MofF from the the terminal? It could be an interesting Non-rev destination this weekend.

Thanks.

Glad you guys got the A320, I was going to make a post about it right when it pushed the gate this morning. But I got caught up in work and forgot all about it.

The 737 will leave out there around 10:30 or 11am tomorrow.

Ugly. But I would fly it if their leg was the least expensive. Isn't that really all that it is about? But, so ugly!

It is no N2T. Sheer genius.

Doesn't anyone know that it does no good by living in the past...and by what the new plane looks like i think Air Tran is living in the past...but i would still fly them if they came to IND!!  Big thumbs up

It would look halfway decent if the cheatline didn't curve up at the nose. If they just, from the wing forward, had it go straight towards the nose, it'd look fine.

They are supposed to have 2 of these in service by July 1. Does anyone know the status of #2?

If the AirTran logo on the forward fuselage was more prominent it wouldn't look half-bad. They are on the right track, just still slightly left of center.

Airtran, Please wake up and send it back to the paint hangar before anyone else sees that hideous looking thing.......Seriously, please write Airtran at http://www.airtran.com/help/customer/index.jsp and tell them just how bad the new paint scheme looks. If the roar is loud enough they may listen!

Critter, not a chance. AirTran mgmt loves the paint. It is quite nice in real life, much better than the yellowish beige color.

I'm with Royal. I've being saying for as long as I can remember, that I hate the beige! It's atrocious! I seriously don't understand all of the hate for the new c/s. I mean, it's not the best in the world... but it's really not that bad. I think the blue gives it a nice splash of color. I definitely prefer the new livery to the old...

I received another piece of flame mail today from "John AirTran Employee". After having seen the beige A320 for the first time yesterday, I can't understand all the push back on the new scheme either.

My wife asked if the A320 was real dirty when she saw the photo.

It's not all that ugly.. I have seen a worst (WN blue) and a LOT worst (WN brown). In comparison, FL new livery is like lemonade on a hot summers day.. refreshing!

I will say it is starting to grow on me, the interesting part will be to see what the 717s look like in the new scheme, I'm afraid the blue engines next to the teal tail will look awful, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Just to let you know, the second AirTran is at Renton Field like Royal said, but it will fly it's B1 to BFI and then be painted before B2.
Jus to clarify.
