TV Documentary On AA 1420 Crash @ Little Rock

Thu Jun 10, 2004 11:56 am

I couldn't find any other thread about this (sorry if I missed it.) The National Geographic Channel had an interesting hour-long show about the AA crash at Little Rock. National Geographic has had several interesting airplane shows as of late (albeit all crashes, which is sort of depressing to watch.) The cockpit scenes, while obviously dramatizations, are based on cockpit recorders, and show a very confused captain and FO as the plane was landing.

The actors for the pilots made it seem like the Captain was completely incompetant and had no idea what he was doing... like he was on drugs or something.

In any case, tragic landing  Sad Pressure leads people to do crazy things, especially at the end of long 14 hour days.

That seems like such a silly crash, if the pilots had more sleep and were paying attention, they would have been lined up better and if not, I would think they could have done a go around.
