Ckeck out this web site http://www.slovak-airports.net/i_photos.php

Pick "Vyberte spoločnosť:" and pick Austrian. It seems OS is using B733 and F70 out of BTS.

Why not use SkyEurope? They will be far cheaper probably...

You may find it cheaper to fly to VIE and take the (very short ~ 45 min) train ride to Bratislava. OF course, you'd have to get from the airport in VIE to the train station (i've tempoarily forgotten which one).

If you decide to fly to VIE then take a EUROLINES bus to Bratislava. It leaves from in front of VIE airport and gets you to Bratislava Nivy bus terminal. The bus OW ride is about €7.5.

Also, I do not really think the airfare from LGW to BTS is going to be more expensive than to VIE.

Im sure i read in the Austrian In flight magazine last month that they were starting LHR service to Bratislava. This is to be operated by Lauda Air using 737NG aircraft.

Im sure they were offering promotional fares as well.
next flights : BD LHR-TXL J, FR SXF-STN Y, SN BRU-LHR Y, MA LHR-BUD Y, BA BUD-LHR J, BA LCY-SNN-JFK J, BA JFK-LHR J, BA

I've just booked LGW-BTS next month £72 return including taxes, apparently a Fokker 70. This was much cheaper than VIE alternative and more convenient than Sky Europe from STN.

It seems that the BTS-flights for OS are not working as expected as they are downsizing from B737 to F70 on a permanent basis from what I know...

What a joke! What's OS thinking? The only reason they're in Bratislava is so they can kill SkyEurope. Personally, I don't think they'll succeed (not with their cost structure). I think it's going to be very interesting to see how OS' as well as Austria's economic prospects are going to unfold now that they're flanked by four new low-wage, low-cost EU countries. Maybe it's too early to tell, but I don't think this country's competitive position will hold up in the face of all this new competition. It's definitely something Georg Haider will be ranting about in the years to come.

Planeguy,

BTS operations for OS seem to be more part of their strategy game to cut costs at their homebase.

The current commuting situation between VIE and BTS for sure does not force pax to fly out from BTS instead of VIE. That may change when the traffic infrastructure becomes better between the two cities (unfortunately 15 years too late).

If it would make sence now, all the LCC's such as German Wings, Germania, Niki, Air Berlin, V-Bird, Helvetica, etc. would immidately move their operations into BTS.

btw. as far as i remember it is Jörg and not Georg, but who cares what he is ranting about anyway?
