Ben Gurion Airport - Terminal 3

Sat Jun 12, 2004 6:20 pm

Finally, It seems that the long awaited "Ben Gurion 2000" project
(which is now known as T3) is now completed.

It's not going to be active before the end of the high travel season in November, but it is completed, after a four year delay and 1 billion $ invesment (and the wait)..

The picture looks quite nice..

Did you pack alone?

Duty Free Square - With Natural lighting

View of main building

Enroute to the gates

Luggage Pickup

And Finally - No more boarding via bus! (this sleeve is connected to an old
EL AL's 742 "4X-AXB". This will be the most sophisticated gate control system in the world).
cockpit? it's that little room in the front of the plane where the pilots seat.. but that's not important now

Basically - All majors flying to israel.

EL AL
BA
LH
KL
AF
CO
and all the others.

It seems that Arkia, Israir and other charters will use the current Terminal 1

How exactly will it be the most sophisticated gate system of the world? Or are you just making this up? The jetways certainly do not qualify to the title 'most sophisticated', from what I can see on the picture. Anyways, for an airport that's always been without jetbridges (as long as I can remember anyway) it certainly is an improvement.

Manni,

That's what the trades say.

They will be the first bridges to have an automated docking system.

I'm not sure of the details - but i know that that's the "fact" as per the publications.

better do some reserch before blaming..

Danielbk,

You should do your research before blindly copying what the media or the publicity campaign claims, in regards to the new terminal at TLV. Your answer is incomplete, please provide me with the details. I'm very interested to see them.

"Sophisticated" or not, the boarding tunnels are very old-fashioned....
I bitterly miss the livery that should never have been changed (repetition...)

I am going to miss those buses. A lot. It's always nice to get a breath of fresh air, and then get on a bus and sit a bit.
I hope the immigration hall is big- Terminal 1 immigration is absolute hell.

since Avi stated, that Term. 1 will only be used for domestic flights, I assume that LX will use T3, too  Smile
