UA 777 With New Livery In SEA?

Sun Jun 13, 2004 3:48 am

Hey guys.. I was just walking inside to my sister's in Fremont (a neighborhood just north of Seattle) and I saw heard a plane passing overhead. Being the good geek that I am, I immediately craned my neck to get a peek. And from my angle, I could see white on the top with what appeared to be black lettering, and the bottom was metal that transitioned to blue as it go to the bottom (visible) part of the plane.

Best I can tell, it was a UA 772 in the new c/s. Can any one confirm this? It was about 11:30 or so, and it looked like it took off to the north and turning out to the west. The UA flight from SEA - NRT? Was one of the new c/s 772s in SEA?

Steve: According to the UA schedule, UA #755 is a 772 and arrives SEA at around 10:30, today's flight says 10:42am. The outgoing flight to NRT departs around 1:30pm I believe, though I don't know if that's the same plane that comes in from ORD.

For some strange reason, I can't pull up the SEA-NRT flight on the UA webpage, but it usually departs around 1-2pm, about the same time as the NW flight.

Sea-Tac has been using runways 16L/R this morning so it couldn't have been a north departure, unless it took off to the south and then turned back north, in which case it would have been quite high over Freemont.

The only UA plane I saw in the new colors today was a 737 that was in at a gate around 1230pm as I was going to/from the cargo house after working a (very late departing) flight to Denver.

I haven't seen any UA new colors 777s in Seattle (doesn't mean much as I have been inside most of the time the last month or so), just the usual 737s and one 757 in the new colors that I have seen.
