New Iberia 743?

Tue Jun 15, 2004 5:45 pm

Following the thread of a week ago, where there were discussions about an all white B744 at La Muñoza (Madrid technical base at Barajas I think?), it was discounted as being one of the new ex-singapore 744 that they are going to get and was actually a B743 of Air Atlanta - TF-AFS.

However, I have just seen a photo of this B743 on an Iberia flight.

What's going on? Is this a temporary replacement until the new B744 arrive? Is it a replacement for one of the B742s or existing B743? Any answer amigos españoles?

Hey Andy!

I believe it is a temporary replacement until the 2 B744's arrive. Hence you can see it is not painted in full IB colors. Since the first 744 was to begin operating on June 14th and it did not make it here on time....I guess Air Atlanta gave us a temporary 743 to fill the gap.

As you saw from the picture in the other thread, it doesnt look like they were finished painting the 744 down in Singapore. Hopefully it gets here soon...I cant wait to see it!!
