LAX For 8 Hours Plus -shopping

Wed Jun 16, 2004 9:00 pm

Hey Everyone

Just spent a nice holiday in SoCal but returning home to Sydney next week. I am being dropped off at LAX at 1pm and my NZ flight does leave until 9.30pm.

I was thinking about going to Santa Monica to so some last minute clothes shopping. Reckon that's a good
idea or do you have any other ideas for shopping?

Cheers
Brent

Santa Monica is probably you're best bet. Another option would be to head South from the airport to Manhattan Beach. There's a nice mall with a good selection of high-end stores. Downtown Manhattan beach is not far away.

take public bus to West Hollywood (Santa Monica Blvd) from LAX -- 50 minutes for like $1.50!

Go to 3rd street promenade in santa monica, there's both an indoor and outdoor mall and tons of stuff.

A taxi would probably be 25-30 dollars each way, and the promenade and mall in Santa Monica are really nice. If you want souvenir shopping you can go to Venice, which is a little closer, and has a very nice beach. Santa Monica is probably the closest and best place to LAX for shopping. It is a real trendy place with many college students from UCLA and surrounding areas, but is a little expensive.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!
