There was an article in DWT a month or so ago (May 20th), and which states that so far there are 3 or 4 different aviation activities or companies that have been given permission to fly elsewhere or operate from PBM.
One was Heli-Jet the helicopter company in Suriname, requested to expand
from Helicotter service to airplanes. Not sure what the status is of this...
Then there was SIVA-International, I'm also not sure about the status of this. Offer PBM-BRU
service. (Maybe this one is Air Surinam)
also requested PBM-BRU
service, but this one was denied by the gov. for competion reasons...
And finally there was another company that got permission to offer flights to Africa and the Middle East. I believe they mentioned Freetown, Sierra Leone; Accra, Ghanna; and Dubai.
Also don't know the status of that right now and who would be doing this operation.
Well, i also heard that Universal wanted to expand PBM services. (maybe acquire a second 767 to do this operation) But if AMS
denied service, they will try to find other options i guess... Hey, if they can make money some way, they'll try it.
About Air Surinam, heard this one is legit(not sure) but are still in the phase of planning and other stuffs, I'll try to find more info on them and ask around...!
Update coming soon!
Competition here we come!!
Any one knows any other updates on these services... or others...?
