There is no B36 at EWR
, the gates aren't numbered like that as they are at many other airports. Rather, they go sequentially, so A-1 has gates 10-19, A-2 20-29, and A-3 30-39, B-1 40-49, B-2 50-59, B-3 60-69, C-1 70-99, C-2 100-119, and C-3 120-139.
Some airlines use the letter of the terminal in front of the gates at EWR
, but officially there are no terminal designations besides concourse identifiers (B-1, C-2, etc). This eliminates any duplicate gate numbers, so it's less confusing, but then you've got to know which satellite each series of numbers are in as well.
