FAA Inspection!

Tue Feb 15, 2000 1:58 pm

I needs to say that FAA should inspect all airlines worldwide that are in use of the twinjet fleets that are listed below:

B717, DC9, MD80, MD81, MD82, MD83, MD87, MD88, MD90 ......

Those inspections must be serious, and should have high quality technician to check all wirings, electricial checks..... to avoid another air/ground disaster !!

ANY ONES AGREES !!!!!!

As much as I can see the principle that you are getting at, there is one problem: The FAA can not force airlines that are from other countries to check their aircraft.....the only way I can see it is if those aircraft fly into United States airspace from their home countries.

Do you have any idea how pissed off other countries would be if the United States demanded the right to inspect their aircraft? The FAA has jurisdiction in the US, but has absolutely no power whatsoever to force action in other nations. The best we can do is to hopoe that other nations will see Boeing's service bulletin and the FAAs emergency airworthiness directive and act accordingly. We have no right, however, to force a sovereign nation's compliance with our suggestions.

"I needs to say that FAA should inspect all airlines worldwide that are in use of the twinjet fleets that are listed below:"

Like already said, it would be ludicrous for the FAA to force their regulations on other countries.

"B717, DC9, MD80, MD81, MD82, MD83, MD87, MD88, MD90 ......"

With the possible exception of the MD-90 (and even it isn't UNsafe) these are all extremely well built and safe aircraft.

"Those inspections must be serious, and should have high quality technician to check all wirings, electricial checks..... to avoid another air/ground disaster !!"

To even suggest that this isn't already done regularly (by the airlines themselves) is irresponsible :-(

"ANY ONES AGREES !!!!!! "

NO !!!!!!

Everybody stop bashing MDC all the time. The MD-80 series is SAFE, do you hear me SAFE!
