I have mileages on KLM Flying Dutchman as well as on KoreanAir SkyPass. Will they add the miles on one account, so that it is possible to use KoreanAir miles for a KLM Flight?

Cheers,
Jan

They will be probably not be added on one account just yet, but you should be able to use Flying Dutchman miles on Korean or any other Skyteam carrier when they join the alliance.

Thanks for reply
I have nearly 60.000 miles with KoreanAir but I can not use them anymore for flights to Korea, because I will not go there anymore. So then I will go to SXM with AF to make some nice shots Big grin

And six week later again with KLM Big grin

Hmmm, I wonder if NW will look at the 777-300ER very seriously now, as the 777 is a SkyTeam flagship.

Delta's reduction in services at DFW will mesh well with a CO base at IAH.

However, I wonder how having 3 majors in the same country on one alliance will work. That business model has yet to be tested.

SkyTeam's weak link is still the South Pacific/Indian Ocean region. If they were to add Malaysian to SkyTeam, they would have Asia covered from the northeast and southwest. With KL, CO and NW joining, MH would finally give SkyTeam a truly global reach.

I was Delta Platinum for many years until moving to Australia. Now earning elite miles and using my Delta miles is very limited with SkyTeam. Star Alliance and OneWorld own this region -- and the flights are always full. It would be great to get SkyTeam to have a bigger presence down under!

TexAussie,
"as the 777 is a Sky Team flagship"

When was this announced?

TexAussie, I would have to disagree with you on the fact that SkyTeam will be weak in the South Pacific. CO Micronesia serves many South Pacific islands that no other major airline in the world does, providing a vital air link to many of the small islands. I don't know how you can say that this is the case.

CO Micronesia serves many South Pacific islands.

CO Micronesia only serve micronesian islands (Guam, Saipan, Yap, Koror, Pohnpei, Truk, Kwajalein, Majuro). These islands are localised to the northwestern corner of the Pacific.

South Pacific Islands are Polynesia / Melanesia i.e. Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, Rarotonga. Also, Skyteam would not have any direct flights linking North America and Australia/New Zealand like Star Alliance and Oneworld.

I suspect Alitalia will have to wait until they put their finances in order, or at least until they have a survival plan in place. Their auditors are still refusing to sign off on their accounts. As for Cathay, I do not see them leaving the OneWorld alliance in a hurry.

I don't remember NW, CO, and KL even considering OneWorld, once KL had agreed to merge with AF.

What about Copa Airlines??

Actually that is a good question, what about CM? It would be a great addition to their network since AeroMexico is very limited in the region.
nice and spacious airports in need of new airlines and flights... GUA or FRS anyone?... anyone at all?

I'm not sure what you mean by Alitalia. They're already in SkyTeam.

Now that this is confirmed, when will Skyteam have a screensaver like the Star Alliance one?

OK, so will KLM and Northwest still continue to split revenues over the Atlantic?
