BA Replaces B772 With B744 In EZE, GRU And GIG

Fri Jun 25, 2004 4:34 am

From November 1st, BA will replace B772 on the routes to South American cities of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. From that date, they will use B747-400.

Those flights are:

BA 247/6 LHR-GRU-EZE-GRU-LHR (4 weekly)
BA 247/6 LHR-GRU-GIG-GRU-LHR (3 weekly)

This changes follows those announced for BOG and CCS routes, which will be served by B772 instead of B763 from October onwards.

Nice news Bob..

BA has been changing the equipment on this route over the past years, actually, the 744 will be returning to this flights with this move.

Can you confirm if dep/arr times will be kept? ie. morning arrival and mid afternoon departure?

Gran saludos desde San Pablo

With the economy steadily recovering in Argentina, I strongly believe it is only a matter of time before EZE gets back its non-stop flights from Heathrow. Lufthansa has already returned its daily non-stop operations last December, Air France is about to make EZE a single station without the SCL tag, and KLM is also said to be contemplating a return to EZE.

What do you mean by this? AF still schedule CDG-EZE-SCL, I don't think they're starting non stop SCL-CDG again

The non-stop CDG-DCL is very much in the cards again and due to start somewhere next winter, according to my sources at the airline. I think this has even been mentionned in here before.

Really!?!?!?

IB/LA/AF and LH are tough competitors in Chile/Europe market (winning LA and IB so far). If this is true, I think AF goes after gaining marketshare. paris grew a lot as a destination when they did the non stop. Let's cross the fingers, it would be great to have another non stop to europe.

Thanks for the info.

Howdy Argentina,

Thanks for the schedule.. I was wondering if I would be able to photograph or not this flights.

No I don't work for Varig, I worked quite a long time for swissair (at GRU) and now I work for a cargo airline based at Campinas/Viracopos airport.

I miss those swissair flights to BUE, had some nice weekends at Baires...

Saludos
