Routing Of SQ21/22 SIN-EWR

Fri Jun 25, 2004 4:25 pm

What would the flightpath for these flights be? Would SQ fly over America or over the North Pole?

Yes, it is over with the north pole with some of those international flights to SIN, HKG, TPE, NRT, KIX, NGO and etc.

From TPE to NYC, it will not pass the north pole.
China Airlines: TPE-ANC-JFK (TPE-JFK in winter)
EVA AIR: TPE-SEA-EWR

My understanding is that the EWR-SIN flight goes more or less straight up over the North Pole, whereas the SIN-EWR flight generally follows a more southerly route over Japan, Alaska, etc. in order to take advantage of the jetstream. I think the nonstop NYC-HKG flights do the same.

Thanks, Singapore_Air. A picture is worth a thousand words! Or, in my case, about 40.  Smile
