WorldWays Canada, Still Around?

Thu Feb 17, 2000 12:43 am

I was just looking at the photo section of the site and I came across WorldWays Canada pictures. The latest picture ther was in 1994? I was just wondering if it was still around. if not was the service good? and what type of fleet did they have?

Thanks - Airman99o

According to my source (Airways Magazine*), Worldways ceased ops in 1991. They flew 727's and L-1011's.
Don't know about the service though.

*Airways did an article about Operation Blessing awhile back, and profiled the L-1011 that is being used. They did a history on that plane, which served with Worldways at some point. They briefly mentioned the fate of Worldways, which is where I got my info.

No, they went bankrupt around that time.

Just to add some other info: they also operated DC-8-60s although I don't know if they were in use at the time of their demise. Chris
