Continental And Copa Liveries

Mon Jun 28, 2004 7:28 am

I noticed that the liveries of CO, and Copa are very similar, and as for the globe on the tail, just painting over some of the lines would change the CO tail to the Copa tail. Did Copa get some 737's from CO? Is there an agreement between the two?

I think CO owns Copa and just manages it separately, kind of like how QX and AS use the same branding because they are owned by the same company and managed differently.

Frugalqxnwa is correct, CO owns COPA as far as I know. I don't know how close the relationship is, but I assume quite. COPA is a subsidiary I believe.

I thought that Continental had a fairly large stake in COPA. If my memory serves me correctly, I think it was around 49% but I may be way off.

Folks, go easy on the guy... He's new to the system.

Show some courtesy and grace.

Then, after a month (we assume he get's the system), feel free to hunt him down!

Kalakaua: My mistake, yes, its CM.
CO owns CM since late 90s.

Continental owns 49% and Motta International about 20%, the rest are smaller investors, The CEO is Panamanian and all the airplanes are registered in panama, it is not a subsidiary, it is a completely separate airline, but with a lot of codesharing. They are the fastest growing airline in latin america and have 95.6% on time record, the highest in America (the continent)
