MIA-LHR Question

Mon Jun 28, 2004 9:35 pm

I was reading flight info. On the MIA-LHR routes on Amadeus and I came across the following:

American Airlines
AA 112 Miami Int'l (MIA), Miami, Florida, USA 17:30
Heathrow (LHR), London, United Kingdom
Terminal 3 07:00+1 day(s)
777 8h30min
Saturday, June 05, 2004
Saturday, October 23, 2004 Saturday

Is AA Operating ( 2 ) 772ER flights to LHR from MIA on Saturdays? As you all probably know, AA already operates a 772ER daily to LHR at 8PM from MIA.

Seems like a lot of service to LHR from MIA. With BA twice daily 744 service, AA 772ER daily (now twice daily on Saturdays) and VS A346/744 shared daily services.

Is the demand growing on these routes from MIA?

Yes, AA operates a second MIA-LHR on Saturdays. During the winter it operates on Sundays too. AA 112/113 operated daily during winter 2002/2003, but this winter it will only be SaSu, especially with the new MIA-MAN running.

Demand between Miami and London is very high. It's a dense route, with about 900,000 people traveling between the two cities each year. O&D on the route is more than 1,800 people a day.

Britts love the Florida sun, and their Pounds Sterling go a long way. Try visiting MCO about 4PM and see all the UK tails bringing in the day's catch of British tourists.

You can go to Miami from London, get great sun, do lots of shopping and spend less than you would staying in Europe. Plus, AA connects to a lot of their European customers to their South American network. Many tourists connect to the Caribbean, etc.
