7E7: 52 Sold... 3,448 To Go

Boeing's Dreamliner: 52 Sold, 3,448 to Go

Feren, head of sales and marketing for the 7E7, says the midsize 7E7 is ideal for a world in which airlines will need planes that can fly 200 to 300 passengers directly to a final destination -- think JetBlue (JBLU), AirTran, or EasyJet operating intercontinentally.

It seems that 7E7 articles are popping up everywhere now, not just the industry wires and magazines.

One thing that is starting to really stand out is that Boeing is being very vocal about what a great match the 7E7 is for LCCs. Even CEO Mullally has made a point of this in several interviews, specifically for LCC overseas routes. Would it not be ironic that the Boeing 737 "enabled" the LCC charge for increasing domestic market share and yield domination, and perhaps now, with the 7E7, Boeing will facilitate the LCC intercontinental charge.

Please everyone stop worrying...
Many very informed and smart people already thought about everything.

The 7E7 will do fine. We can all sleep sound.
I'll do my own airline. With Blackjack. And hookers. In fact, forget the airline.

it is rumoured that the first European customer will be Britannia, as Boeing has stated they are in talks with a 'non-scheduled' carrier.

This thing will sell like crazy.....as long as Boeing can deliver what it has promised the airlines will need more of this type aircraft than any other.....at least until the 737/A320 types need replacing. When this happens Boeing will not have to reinvent the wheel to make a single aisle version of this aircraft and should have a jump on the market with that type as well.

The LCC's will benefit from this, and they will force the legacy carriers to revamp significantly over the next couple of years, or be pushed out, and the 7E7 will assist with this.

Are you still anything about more orders with 7E7? How many airlines were already on orders with 7E7 now?

While probably true, I don't think that this is really Boeing's aim... essentially aiding in financially ruining some of your best customers is usually not considered a good business practice...

It will fly like nothing before has ever flown.

Please... stop making it sound like the second coming of Jesus!!!

There have been big technical advances in the past, and there'll be others in the future: no doubt, the 7e7 will be a technical advance, but for the passenger on board it'll probably still be a plane offering less space than you need to really feel comfortable (in Y at least)...

Nonetheless - I'm very much looking forward to my first flight in a 7e7...

Regards,
Frank

I heard that if you touch the 7E7 it will cure any illnesses you have. It feeds the hungry and dresses the naked!!!

Anyhoo, I thought the board had decided that more orders would be announced at Farnborough? I am curious to see who is going to be an early adapter of this one.
Keep on truckin'...

My thought is to wait until Farnborough. Boeing did not look so great last year and at Paris, and I am guessing that they are holding off with some order announcements until then to make a grand show with plenty of headlines there.

To many of us, the 7E7 is the second coming of. . . . .well, at least Boeing.

For 52 sold thus far, I think sales are doing just fine, and are about to get even more spectacular in the next few months.
