Fri Jul 02, 2004 11:33 am

Does any body know how did MX do in the first JFK flight?

How many pax?

EWR missing MX already?

What about MX's employees at EWR? Moving them to JFK?

Any Mariachis at the gate?

for those who think about tortillas (better than peanuts)
they served champagne and nice food. Movie on board and free shirts. Great success. Really
107 passenger and full on the trip back.
114 on the second day...( A-319..120 total seats)

Thanks a lot for the good news, Pecevanne.

I hope MX does great on this move. Also, the AA - MX alliance will work on stronger basis at JFK.

Are they using the American terminal (8/9) or T4?

I was on that flight.

I was told that flight was delayed because of aircraft change at the last moment. A319 'Mérida' (N612TY) was the one with the failure! Is this true? Same thing happened to XA-MXB inaugural flight to EZE delayed for 1 hour. Anyway, load factors look wonderful! Perhaps later on MX will switch to A320 and then B757!  Smile

NO Delays, Flight arrived 15 minutes early to JFK. They had a water cannon
reception. Their charming Director, Roman, had a ribbon cutting ceremony
at the gate on arrival. They had the most beautiful flight attendantes I have
ever seen on an airplane.

Apparently they served Champagne to all passengers and great food. There
were dignitaries from the Mexican government and it was really tastefully and
well done.

Everyone at JFK, T4 were excited and happy to have Mexicana back at JFK
as they were once one of the top International carriers there. They had 4
daily flights with 2 on DC10s.

They had advertising everywhere in NY. On the sides of buses in top financial
newspapers. Their Director was interviews by Bloomberg and was shown on
TV.

I have to had it to Mexicana for doing a great job and representing their airline
and Mexico with such professionalism and so positively.

Apparently they spent 4 days in NY and had a special dinner at the LOTUS
Club which is supposed to be one of the most exclusive places in the city.

So one again, no delays, full flights for the past 3 days.
