What In The World? Wierd 717 In PIT

Fri Jul 02, 2004 12:07 pm

While I was walking, I noticed a 717 fly by. It had a livery that I never seen in PIT. It had a purple-orange tail, and big letters from the middle to the nose. I was thinking it was a Hawaiian Air 717 being chartered, but HNL-PIT is no picnic for a 717.

Also, if you have info on that flight, please let me know

Thanks in advance!

No, The letters came all the way down to the belly, like Hawaiian, and I saw lots of orange, and no blue.

Edit: Wait, that's the same time I saw the plane! But we don't have that airline.

Hawaiian's 717 COULD NOT fly from Hawaii to the mainland. They needed extra tanks to get there from Boeing Field. They could always fly from HNL through the islands of the Pacific up through Japan and then over to Alaska before finally coming across to PIT making another 2 stops on it's way there.
If it wasn't FL or HA then chance are that in America, it was Allegiant.

Doesn't Allegiant also have MD-87s? They have that beaver tail too and they could be easilly confused with a 717 since 87s have a shorter body than an 83
