BOS to SYD
the long way, interesting.
Regarding stopovers in BKK
, I would go for SIN
since its a much nicer airport and BA
have nicer facilities there....as you probably know, SIN
in a hub/gateway for QF
flights to Australia. SIN
is considered one of the nicest and user friendly airports in the world, BKK
does not have a great reputation. From a touristical point of view, many consider Bangkok much more fun to visit than SIN
Concerning your fare issue, I believe that even in the lowest fare categories a stopover in SIN
would be permitted......most airlines offer stopover packages in those cities (via their tour departments) as many pax like to break the long journey between London and Australia with a 24 hour stopover. I am not certain on the London stopover since your routing is a bit unusual, the vast majority of pax would travel BOS
If you were actually travelling, I would suggest that you check out the OneWorld round-the-world fares, as a BOS
ticket may actually be cheaper than a roundtrip BOS
ticket via Europe....not sure. The round-the-world deal would allow the stopovers you were asking about.
I hope that you will do this trip someday, Australia is a beautiful place.
