New Britannia/Thomson Website!

Sat Jul 03, 2004 8:21 pm

The new re-branded Britannia/Thomson site is now here.

http://www.britanniaairways.com/

It is an excellent website.  Big thumbs up

I especially like the new interactive Route Map.

That route map is funky! I think the website was rolled out Monday as it wasn't like that last week AFAI remember.

To be honest, struggling to think of any other airline website that has that. Very good!

Red, blue and yellow. Ohhh dear! Interesting, and probably a nice move in the right direction - but those colours just refuse to grow on me - whether it be livery or website - the combo just doesn't work though the logo is kinda clever.

The red is the common theme for the Tui group companies, those with the branding that is. The blues (there are 2 shades) and yellows are there to represent the sand, the sea and the sky.

And yes, the logo was meant to have a dual significance, a smile and the letters T U I at the same time.

Worldoftui, yes, I know the same colours are used throughout the company - I'm just not convinced by them! Not quite sure if they 'work' together. The red on blue can sometimes be harder to read and less clear, and if you look at red on blue, especially on a computer, the edges of the letters can appear 'fuzzy'. I hope this makes sense! It's just... well... good website, but bad colours Big grin

Well, each to their own!
I agree that the red and blue can be harder to read, although I think that the point of the masterbrand was really just that. For example, you know when you used to see a billboard with just purple silk on it, it was an advert for Silk Cut. The same thing I think is being attempted with the Red / blue and the smile and the withdrawal of the "Britannia" brand  Sad

I know what you mean about them "working" together. I thought the same until I was out in resort. It's mad, but seeing the colours out in the bright Mediterranean sun makes them look fantastic and entirely appropriate. My opinion anyway!

I remember a thread on this and I think that the new branding was actually voted the livery most likely to "scare the cows!" hehehe Big grin
