FLL-LAX-SLC

Sun Jul 04, 2004 12:05 pm

A friend of mine told me she was going FLL-LAX-SLC yesterday afternoon or this morning. Are there any valid connections at LAX to SLC? I know AA does not fly to SLC from LAX and DL does not have a connection from its song flight. jetBlue has a FLL-LGB-SLC connection, but its a hell of a long connection (like 7-8 hours!) So, was this person just an average non-traveler or was she being serious about connecting at LAX?

How about posting some flight times and airline info.....that'd help a bit. But most likely, it's either DL or WN...unless your friend is catching a regional partner to SLC, in which case it could be Skywest. But no one can help without flight info.

She could have interlined. Assuming she bought her ticket from a online travel agency like cheaptickets.com or in most cases expedia.com she very likely could have changed airlines in LAX. Expedia is known for this and with the chances of low one way point to point fares in those markets thanks to Song, Jetblue, and Southwest the larger carriers are forced to compete. So she could have taken AA into LAX at $100 (to compete with Song and Jetblue), then $50 on DL into SLC (to compete with Southwest and Jetblue) and vice versa on the return. Expedia does this all on one ticket and so you have a $300 roundtrip.
Thats the only thing I can think of unless she was making an additional connection she didn't tell you about.
It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

I'd love to...IF I HAD IT!

She insisted she was transferring in California...and the only nonstop to California is to LAX! I'll have to wait until next week, I guess, to find out (when she returns)!

Brings up another topic (I might start a thread on this). American is really big down here...7 times out of 10, if you ask someone where they are connecting, they'd either say its a nonstop from MIA or I'm connecting in LAX, DFW, ORD, or SJU...a majority of the time on AA. I don't think that in my 7 years at ATL I had 1 single friend fly AA! (Although, I did consider it for myself, and I would have flown them, but the price was always close to $100 more than DL or FL!)
