A321 In DCA?

Tue Jul 06, 2004 9:42 am

Has there ever been an A321 in DCA, or is the 'bus too much of a runway hog for safe operations at DCA? One would think they could operate on shorter routes our of DCA; i.e. DCA-LGA, DCA-JFK, DCA-ATL, DCA-RDU; but I have yet to see a pic of one of those aircraft in DCA.

US operates/has operated the 321 from DCA to a number of locations, but mostly to PIT/PHL/CLT.

Well, looks like there is one photo in the database. How common are A321s in DCA?

The current US schedule has 1x daily A321 DCA-PHL and 2x daily A321 DCA-PIT.
I'm the expert on here on two things, neither of which I care about much anymore.

The 757 is an extremely popular airframe at DCA, although it was more so in the past.

DCA's 1-19 is ~300 feet longer than MDW's 13-31C, which handles 752s and 753s in pretty high desnity configurations (TZ and charters) all the time.
