Don't believe press releases. There is no way TG
will still start mid 2005. They don't have the sales infrastructure yet. They fired all the sales staff and closed all their sales offices except one pathetic office in Los Angeles, run by political lackeys. The folks in that office couldn't even find JFK
on a map, let alone prepare for flight operations a year from now. Unless TG
completely overhauls its North American sales organization, they will not be able to start service anytime soon. Keep in mind that these same bright sparks are the ones that cut LAX
frequency down from daily to only 4 days a week. Why? they were forced to. All the sales staff that would normally go out and generate corporate and leisure business were let go. At the moment, TG
is relying 100% on the travel needs of the ethnic Thai community in LAX
to keep their 4 frequencies going. TG
redefines the word incompetence.
It's been swell, but the swelling has gone down.
