Omni Air International

Thu Jul 08, 2004 9:42 am

I just saw 2 Omni DC-10s at LAS a couple of days ago..

Does anyone have an inside scoop on what they do, where they fly and
what type of reputation they have with the flying public.

Looks like they may be charter only according to their website.

Yup, you can see their DC-10s and 752s being serviced at LAS. Take Four Seasons Drive to the end and they are right there.
Hey that guy with the private jet can bail us out! Why? HE CAN AFFORD IT!

They have been in ATL a bit recently. I've seen them taxi out of The DL TOC ramp a couple of nights now. I bet military charters.

Love seeing the DC-10s (both World and Omni) out at BWI doing AMC charters. I believe Atlanta, like Baltimore, is a gateway city for the AMC -- So, yes, I'd bet they're military charters too!

I flew one of their DC-10s LAX-LIH-HNL and HNL-LAX in June 2001 on a SunTrips charter. My trip report: http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_reports/read.main/9267.

Currently they operate HNL-LAS charters for Vacations Hawaii with the DC-10 and for MLT/Worry Free Vacations with the 757.

They had three a/c parked @ ATL today, two DC-10s and a 757. The 757 and one of the DC-10s was parked on the AGI ramp @ North Cargo, and the other DC-10 was being towed from Concourse E by Supertug (I didn't look to see where it was being towed to).

The AMC Military terminals are at Baltimore, Los Angeles and Seattle. Atlanta will be closed soon and all AMC stations will close by 2008.

My error, Baltimore will be the only AMC station after FY 2008. all others will close.

The two Omni DC-10s down away from the terminal at LAS are here for heavy maintenance. There is however one scheduled flight a day LAS-HNL. I hope that helps.

Last time I saw an OAI DC10 was for the Badgers Bowl Game in San Antonio a year and a half ago. Happened to talk to one of the pilots and they do only Charter. Other than the LAS-HNL flight.

This DC-10-30 (N17085) was at IND Tuesday evening (7-20-2004). Does anyone know if it was a military charter? There have been several military charters in and out of here lately.

I saw an Omni DC-10 at ATL and then a world MD-11 (ex-DL) in JFK. Both were great treats!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
