My dad worked for PWA
back in his day... So I know a small ammount. I wish I knew more though, from what I hear it was a good airline.
From what I know the really basic story goes something like it was started with small things like beavers and such flying out in the bush. And grew into the jetage with 737s. Also did charters with such planes as 737s, 707s and Hercs.
It eventually was built up to a fairly profitable airline flying many B737-200Adv and B737-200C/Adv around western Canada. At one point ordered 737-300s but cancelled. Ordered and recieved 2 B767-200s direct from Boeing. Soon after made a fair ammount of money, and purchased the lardger Canadian Pacific Air Lines known at the time as CP
Air. Mainline fleet was simpliflied to DC-10 and B737-200Adv and B737-200C/Adv, and the 2 airlines were merged, followed soon by the takeover of Wardair Canada. The combined airline was known as Canadian Airlines International.
Hope this helps.
